ORGANIST/ACCOMPANIST – First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, 1328 Peachtree Street, NE, Atlanta, GA, 30309. www.firstpresatl.org

Full-time organist and rehearsal accompanist for large church located in Midtown Atlanta’s arts district (we are next door to the High Museum of Art and the Woodruff Arts Center, which houses the Atlanta Symphony and the Alliance Theatre). 35 hours per week. Two traditional Sunday morning services September-May; one Sunday morning service June-August. Wednesday evening rehearsals September-May (no Wednesday rehearsals June-August). Additional service playing responsibilities include Holy Week, monthly Tuesday evening Session Communion Service, funerals, and occasional concerts. Limited and agreed upon number of funerals is included in responsibilities under salary – extra pay is agreed upon if allotment is exceeded. Weddings are always extra pay, and are frequent, as the church opened its doors to non-member weddings two years ago. Accompanying responsibilities include the Chancel Choir, Youth Choir, and soloists for worship.

The church houses three organs in the sanctuary and the chapel. The sanctuary organ was built by Zimmer and has 105 ranks. The chapel organ, built in Holland by Klop in 2006, is a 14 rank, and the portative organ is a 3½ rank. The church also owns a harpsichord made in Colorado in 1994 by Thomas Bailey, several Steinway pianos, and Whitechapel handbells. The bell tower houses a 4-octave instrument of 13 tons. The Organist works with the Director of Music and professional technicians to preserve and improve these instruments.

Salary: $40,000 salary plus benefits. Additional compensation available as Director of Carillon Choir, and as a private lesson teacher in our on-site School of Fine Arts.

The Marietta, GA Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society is seeking a music director for its Big Chicken Chorus.

The position is paid, contract basis, part-time (4-5 per week), usually one 3-hour rehearsal, currently 7-10 pm Monday. Salary is negotiable (depending on experience and preparation), plus stipend for expenses, dues, uniforms, and attendance at District and Society events and educational opportunities (including travel) as determined and agreed upon.

The Director will be responsible for final musical authority for all Chorus performances and the preparation – teaching music – for performances. The Director will preside at all regular Chorus rehearsals and performances, competitions and other functions as may be agreed upon.

Interim Music Director

Cross of Life Lutheran Church is seeking an Interim Music Director. The church is located at 1000 Hembree Road, Roswell, GA 30076

Cross of Life is an ELCA Congregation with an average worship attendance of 225. We are seeking an Interim Music Director to rehearse and conduct our Chancel Choir and Handbell Choir. This will be a contract position, initially from February 1 to April 15. Standard hours include Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 12:30 and Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30. The weekly rate is $175. Choir Director Position Available

Mt. Carmel UMC (Norcross) seeks a part-time Music Director/Organist beginning January 2012. The primary responsibilities include:
