Annual Guild Service
The Chapter's concluding program of the 2011-12 Season will be the Annual Guild Service, held this year at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 306 Peyton Road SW, Atlanta. Our host for the evening is Trey Clegg. This service will feature the premiere of the 2011-12 Chapter Choral Commission: A special feature of this year's Guild Service is the premiere of "O Be Joyful," an anthem for choir and organ commissioned by the Atlanta Chapter and composed by
Arlan Sunnarborg, Director of Music at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. The text is taken
from Psalm 100:1-3. Copies of the commissioned anthem will be made available to
chapter members via the Listserv after the service on May 20.
We encourage members to invite their clergy and music staff. AGO certificate holders are invited to vest in either liturgical or collegiate dress
and process in the service. The program begins at 5:30 pm with the Punchbowl, followed by Dinner at 6:00, and the Service at 7:30.
We are pleased to announce the winners of the first Taylor Organ Competition that took place on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Atlanta. Final Round Judges were Doug Cleveland, David Higgs, and Wilma Jensen.

The American Guild of Organists (AGO) is the national professional association serving organ and choral fields. Chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York in 1896, the AGO now serves over 21,000 members throughout the United States and world-wide. It provides educational and certification services and professional assistance to its members, and promotes the use of the organ in sacred and concert settings.
Founded in 1914, the Atlanta Chapter was the first AGO chapter in the state of Georgia and is one of the largest chapters in the USA. Our diverse membership includes organists who serve in houses of worship, choral conductors and singers, music teachers and educators, organ builders and curators, clergy, and enthusiasts and supporters of the organ. Information and application forms may be found by clicking on the Membership tab above.
