A Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols

Thursday, December 24 | 1:00 p.m.

Join us for a reflective and joyful service that is a timeless Anglican tradition experienced throughout the world. Following the model of King's College, Cambridge, the liturgy begins with Once In Royal David's City, introduced by a solo treble voice. The service continues by weaving together sacred readings from Scripture with beloved Christmas carols, telling the story of God's promise and the birth of Christ. In the quiet beauty of the candlelit nave, music and words come together to prepare our hearts for Christmas.

Under the direction of Scott Lamlein and Justin Maxey, the All Saints' Adult Choir is a semiprofessional ensemble of 30 singers. Presenting music at All Saints' weekly services requires learning more than 100 choral works each year, which the choir does with joy and grace. The Adult Choir has sung at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., at Carnegie Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, and has been heard on the Today show.
