Description
Grammy® Award-winning Gil Shaham is one of the foremost violinists of our time. His flawless technique combined with his inimitable warmth and generosity of spirit has solidified his renown as an American master. Shaham was one of the earliest performers to grace the Spivey Hall stage during our first full season (1991-92), so it’s only fitting that he returns to open our 35th season with long-time collaborator Japanese-born pianist and composer Akira Eguchi. This not-to-be-missed program will feature a selection of Beethoven violin sonatas.
“A virtuoso and a player of deeply intense sincerity…. One of today’s pre-eminent violinists.”
– The New York Times
